President-elect Santiago Peña will have several challenges upon receiving the administration of the Paraguayan State, one of them being the reactivation of the economy.
The senator-elect and former Minister of Industry, Gustavo Leite, argued that people need immediate answers, for example in medicines and school meals. He considered that if the government of Santiago Peña announces that they will not be missing from next year’s budget, it will help alleviate despair.
Likewise, in an interview with the GEN channel, he considered that the investment will generate employment and satisfy the needs of the citizenry.
“If the ministers that are announced bring peace of mind to the business sector, they will start to invest, if they start to invest, they will start to hire people. If people are hired, those who don’t have a job today will have it. So those are the things that the citizenry wants and needs,” she said.

For his part, the economist Jose Luis Rodriguez Tornaco He highlighted the choice of Lea Giménez, former Minister of Finance, for the transition team, which will be in charge of knowing how the house is located so that it receives the new administration. “You have to have the final picture of what you will receive, see where there are resources available and make early victories, reaching people in need quickly”, he added.
In his opinion, Santi must “restart the economy that was stopped for four years”restore purchasing power, control inflation, create jobs, apply fiscal discipline, reduce the very high indebtedness, spend public money better, among other aspects.
And, in order to improve the current situation, Peña must choose people prepared for the job to be carried out in favor of the citizens, according to the interviewee.
