The Director of Security and Coexistence of the Ministry of the Interior, Santiago González, found himself at the center of a recent controversy after being accused of using the Police Hospital to obtain medicines. However, the hierarch has vehemently denied these accusations, stating that he does not need to defend himself against unsubstantiated claims.
González turned to social media to address the situation, dismissing the evidence presented against him, on the radio M24, as false and part of an alleged larger plan. He clarified that although Your personal information appears on an alleged medication prescription taken from the Police Hospitaldid not authorize or receive any drug from said medical center.
The director went on to argue that the information presented was probably the result of identity theftand that an investigation should be launched to determine the truth.
“If I put your ID number, it will give me the same thing that appears there with your ID number. and that prints. Who really enters, deciphers, approves or disapproves is the pharmacy, and those numbers were not used in the pharmacy or my ID was not used either”, González said in statements to El País. He also denied having scheduled a consultation with a specialist last year. “There is no such consultation,” he said and continued: “I have the truth. And I show it to anyone; We are going to see the cameras of the Police Hospital, to see if I was there”.
The alleged evidence against Santiago González
The journalist Eduardo Preve presented on the radio station several tickets from the hospital that, supposedly, would show that Santiago González has a “current account” for the withdrawal of medicines.
“IN CASE YOU DON’T READ WELL. Until last night the digital medical history of @ santiagon1974
in the Police Hospital it appeared with the number 173751 under quality: without right. And his “current account” for the withdrawal of medicines was in force,” Preve asserted on Twitter.
González described the accusations as a “lie” and asserted that the tickets are “false.” “I want to clarify that these numbers were not used in the Hospital pharmacy to withdraw medication. Given this, I asked the authorities to initiate an urgent investigation to determine responsibilities, ”concluded the official on his Twitter account.
