An explosive device detonated at around 2:00 a.m. this Thursday outside the Circle of Gendarmerie Officials in Retiro, located on José Toribio Medina street, in the Santiago commune.
According to witnesses, two hooded cyclists left the device at the gate of the compound. In addition, according to preliminary information from Carabineros, the explosive element was attached to a dry chemical fire extinguisher.
Although the explosion generated a large smoke, there were no injuries or damage to the establishment.
The South Metropolitan Prosecutor’s Office ordered the Carabineros Special Police Operations Group (GOPE) and the Criminalistics Laboratory to carry out the investigations of the case.
