The U-17 Women’s World Cup trophy was displayed with great success in Santiago de los Caballeros, in an activity organized by FIFA, the Local Organizing Committee (COL) and the City Hall.
Dozens of people gathered at the International Plaza to admire the trophy, which will be contested by 16 countries from five continents, all hoping to lift it at the end of the tournament. In a festive atmosphere, football fans took advantage of the opportunity to take photos with both the trophy and Taní, the official mascot of the World Cup, which will be held from October 16 to November 3 in Santo Domingo and Santiago.
The arrival of the trophy in Santiago was accompanied by the presence of four players from the national team, who shared their enthusiasm for the event, which will be held at the Cibao Football Club Stadium, located on the grounds of the Pontificia Universidad Católica Madre y Maestra (PUCMM).
The players present were Marcela Zimbrón (winger), Maya Reyes (goalkeeper), Angie Abreu (midfielder) and Jabes Martínez (left back).
The Deputy Minister of the Interior and Police, Angela Jaquez, also attended, along with representatives of Mayor Ulises Rodriguez: Pappy Perez, Municipal Director of Sports, and Felix Franco, Director of Press and Communications.
On behalf of the local organizing committee, Vicent Leborloch, FIFA marketing manager, highlighted the success of the event and urged the community to continue supporting the World Cup. He also announced that the trophy will be displayed in Santo Domingo. Also present at the event were Arlene Reyes (Communication Director of the LOC), Yarisel Núñez (Marketing Coordinator in Santiago), Karen Vargas (Santiago Manager), Natalia Gormaz (Ticketing Area), Layla Saleme (Marketing Coordinator in Santo Domingo) and Ana Gabriela Díaz (volunteer).

The FIFA U-17 Women’s World Cup Trophy Tour will be touring various shopping centers in Santo Domingo and Santiago, in order to give the public the opportunity to take photos with the trophy and with Taní, the official mascot of the aforementioned World Cup event, and live a rewarding and unforgettable experience, prior to the long-awaited world competition.
