A Patasca Festival, fun traditional games, music, poetry and dance are the activities for this weekend. This Saturday, September 3, the Twelve Fest will take place. In this event, which will be held at the 9 de Octubre school in the Plaza de El Palmar, the residents of Municipal District 12 await visitors from 8:00 a.m. to 10:00 p.m. You can enjoy handicrafts, singers, costumbrista poems and dances, the organizers indicated.
The activities in homage to the month of Santa Cruz continue to markor schedule with the documentary “Cruceñas Weavers of Jipi Japa”. The audiovisual will be exhibited at 6:30 p.m. at the Artecampo Museum (Third external ring, almost Roca and Coronado avenues).
For the next day, Sunday 4, at Cabañas del Piraí, the Festival of the Patasca will be celebrated. “We will have an hour of free patasca” announced Freddy Contreras, representative of the Cabañeros Association. The event will start at 10:00 and will last all day. Within the program there will also be traditional games such as palo ensebao, ring, pejichi and many more attractions.
In this same place, recently declared Cultural and Tourist Heritage, the Autonomous Municipal Government of Santa Cruz de la Sierra, through the Municipal Secretary of Culture and Tourism, will present the theater cycle “Guardians of the East” directed by Rodrigo Heredia. There will be two functions this Saturday. The first at 10:00 and the second at 16:00. The same program is repeated on Sunday 4 but in Los Mangales II park (Beni avenue, Lucía Mercado street, passing the fourth ring road). The play, which seeks to revalue nature, has the Ruta Teatro seal and features performances by Edson Maraz, Gonzalo Michell and Belén Pérez.
Dance and history are also present on the first weekend of September with the Youth Folk Festival of Regional Dances “Elay Puej” which is scheduled for this Saturday 3 at the Cambódromo, from 7:30 p.m. The route will be from the fourth to the third ring, with the participation of 15 dance teams.
