Santa Cruz has a positivity rate of 8% and reports 78 positive cases this Sunday

The daily epidemiological report issued by the Departmental Health Service (Headquarters) reflects 78 new cases of Covid-19 in the department of 965 nasal antigen tests. This reveals a positivity rate of 8% and the department is approaching the 10% limit, which represents an alert situation due to the probability of massive contagion.

As usual, the capital of the department accumulates the largest number of cases. This Sunday registers 94% of the 78 new cases. The list is completed with La Guardia, Montero, El Torno, Warnes and Yapacaní, with one case detected in each of the municipalities.

The Headquarters report identifies 126 people recovered from Covid-19 that have been discharged. The medical detail reports 8 patients in intensive care units, 13 in intermediate therapy units and 16 who require intubation for recovery.

The importance of vaccination is part of the strategies to contain the pandemic. This Sunday 1,594 doses of immunization were applied and is close to 4 million vaccines applied. Till the date, add up to 3,993,787 distributed doses.

Headquarters considers that 58% of the vaccinable population has received the first dose, 47% have completed the two doses of the vaccination schedule. 16% agreed to the single application dose, while 14% already have the booster dose.
