Madrid Spain.- The Cubans once again staged a massive demonstration against the island’s regime this Sunday night, in the midst of another of the prolonged blackouts.
The town of Santa Cruz del Sur, in Camagüey, took to the streets to demand the reestablishment of electricity.
In videos shared by Saul Manuel From Facebook, Cubans are heard shouting “Put on the current pinga!”, “Down with Canel!, “Libertad” “Díaz-Canel, singao!” and “Down with full bellies”.
“Look at how people are doing, they have them stubborn with the current already… It was formed in Santa Cruz del Sur”, one of the participants in the protests is heard saying.
“Gentleman, they shot in Santa Cruz del Sur. Check this out. Here everyone went out into the street, what can’t be said! It’s good now, that the children are without eating! Until how many, Yeyo, compadre? (…) It was about time, it was about time,” says a woman in another of the recordings.
“This is happening right now in my town Santa Cruz del Sur, Camagüey, today October 09, 2022”, said journalist Mario J. Pentón, who also shared images of the peaceful demonstration.

According to another Penton publication, protests also occurred in Bejucal, Mayabeque province.
“In Bejucal the pots also rang tonight. As much as Castroism tries to silence the protest and scares the official media, people rebel under the cover of the dark of night,” the reporter pointed out.

The day before, on Saturday October 8, dozens of Cubans had gone out to demonstrate in Big Jagueyprovince of Matanzas, against President Miguel Díaz-Canel and the mismanagement of his government.
“If we all unite and shout freedom, the Castro-communist dictatorship will have terror and panic. It is important that the international community sees and knows that the problem of the current is the least of it, the important thing is freedom and then everything else is resolved”, wrote the Cántalo TV platform when sharing images where the protesters were seen in front of the seat of the local government of Jagüey Grande.
