The selection of Santa Cruz won the title of the XIV National Tournament of Departmental Under-18 Teams Men’s Futsal Championship, which concluded over the weekend in the city of Tarija. In the final, they beat Chuquisaca 6-5 in an exciting match.
The nine participating teams were divided into two groups in the first phase of the tournament, the Santa Cruz team was part of the A series, in which defeated Cochabamba (3-2) and Potosí (8-6); The only match they lost was against Tarija (6-1). In Group A there were Beni, Bermejo, La Paz, Oruro and Chuquisaca.
With these results, Santa Cruz qualified second in its group, while Cochabamba took first place. In the B series, the teams that made it to the semi-finals were Oruro and Chuquisaca.
In the semi-finals Santa Cruz defeated Oruro 7-1, while Chuquisaca beat Cochabamba 3-0.
In the last day of the championship, the team from Valle de Guadalupe defeated the team from Oruro by 4-3 and took third place in the tournament, while in the final Santa Cruz beat Chuquisaca in a great match by 6-5.
