The authorities of Santa Cruz and the municipality of La Paz urged the National Institute of Statistics (INE) to send the data they required to complete their proposals; the Government, through the Deputy Minister of Communication, Gabriela Alcón, said that the same will be sent this week as stated in the minutes they signed with the authorities.

“The agreement is to send the information that the National Institute of Statistics has to the regions and these stages have to be established here. For example, with the case of La Paz, the Mayor’s Office presented its proposal at the municipal level, it cannot be handled at the national level, so the information will be presented for you to know. In the case of Santa Cruz, it presented an incomplete proposal (…) therefore It is information that the Government is going to send this week”, Vice Minister Alcón declared to the state channel.

From Santa Cruz it was reported that The inter-institutional committee will meet this Monday from 3:30 p.m. after Saturday’s call was suspended. The agenda of the meeting is to review the non-compliance of the INE in the referral of the presentation of August 15.

“Tomorrow (on Monday) we are going to have a meeting of the Interinstitutional Committee, there we will discuss what other steps we are going to takeif the INE report does not arrive until tomorrow”, warned the coordinator of that regional body, Manfredo Bravo.

While in La Paz, the mayor, Iván Arias, said that information was requested from the INE regarding of the complete schedule of the 700 activitieswhich was prepared by the INE to carry out the census in 2024, with the purpose of shortening pre-census activities with a technical schedule that allows tasks to be carried out in parallel and not sequentially.

“There were consultations with technical teams, we have presented our proposal that has been well discussed and felt (by the INE), just as we have discussed the INE proposal. We, the previous Monday (22) We have sent the INE a letter requesting that the official information be sent to us. We need to have the official information to adjust our schedule”, said the Mayor of La Paz through a press release.

According to the Government, six of the 10 visits he made to the capital cities, in addition to the municipality of El Alto, They agreed that the Census will be carried out in 2024 as established by the Government’s schedule and that in the other four there were no substantive comments on this schedule.

Therefore, tomorrow, after the meeting of the inter-institutional committee of Santa Cruz new pressure measures may be released; while in the case of La Paz they will wait for the meeting on September 1 with all the planning secretaries of the 10 municipalities where they will share what they received as information in the meetings with the Government.
