The technical director of Oriente Petrolero, Erwin ‘Platiní’ Sánchez, affirmed that he has a competitive squad who will play at home and away in the same way. The DT of the refineries is excited and assures that his team is prepared to play the two parallel championships that the Bolivian Football Federation (FBF) and the Copa Sudamericana 2023 scheduled.
“This semester we are all super excited to be able to have a good championship. We have variants in different positions and that complicates us, but it is better to have that problem and not have someone to put in, ”said Sánchez this Tuesday on the Sucesos del Deporte program.
Sánchez assured that he is not in favor of friendlies in the preseason, but that this time he valued the effort of the leadership to meet the three international matches (two in Chile and one in Paraguay), in addition to the match against Libertad Gram Mamoré in Trinidad.
“The pre-seasons are tough, that’s why I’m not interested in the result. I am interested in them reaching the first game at their peak (high performance) to be able to compete”, explained the coach.
Playing as equals on any playing field will be the premise of the Albiverde team, according to Sánchez. “We want to approach home and away matches in the same way. I think we have a team for that and we have players that allow us to demand from the team. Hence the illusion, ”he added.
Sánchez, however, indicated that colors alone do not win games, Therefore, he demands commitment from his players at home training. “We have to be smart in all the decisions we have to make. Do not enter the field and say with the name of Oriente you win. Times have changed, we all work in the same way and we all want to win”, he reflected.
About the two championships this season, he totally agrees. “It is what we need, to compete. Having games, Wednesday and Sunday, we are going to get used to competing and from my point of view the great beneficiary of all this will be the selection, because if there is no rhythm of play, how do we want to have a strong team?” Sánchez assessed.
He closed confirming that apparently in the friendlies and By changing some things that are more mental than physical, you can compete on an equal footing with any rival.
