San Lorenzo did not know how to take care of a two-goal advantage and suffered an agonizing draw against Unión de Santa Fe, 2-2, in the match valid for the ninth date of the Professional Soccer League that was played at the New Gasometer.

adam bareiro Y Nahuel Barrios they scored for San Lorenzo, while the Uruguayan Diego Polenta and Tomás González scored for Unión.

The “Ciclón” accumulated the sixth tie in the contest and reached 12 points. Unión, which had just equaled with Huracán, reached 15 units.

The first half had the Santa Fe team with the most possession of the ball, through good work in the midfield. However, he lacked depth in the final meters.

San Lorenzo resolved its shortcoming with practicality in the cons. Fernández Mercau and Agustín Martegani got together on the left side and with a succession of touches they dismantled the “tatengue” defense.

Martegani, on his return to the starting team after five games, made a good individual play and launched the low cross that Bareiro pushed for his seventh goal of the championship.

Unión responded immediately, in its clearest play of the first half, with a strong cross shot from Colombian Bryan Castrillón that found the firm hands of Sebastián Torrico.

The visit continued in search of equality and with two minutes to go they lost the ball in attack. San Lorenzo did not forgive him. In three touches, from Agustín Giay to Ezequiel Cerutti and from “Pocho” to Barrios, the second from “Ciclón” arrived.

For the second half, Union found the discount with Polenta’s goal. In the previous play, Torrico avoided it before Federico Vera’s shot and then deflected the header of a lone Peralta Bauer after a corner. The rebound hit the post and was served to the Uruguayan defender.

The discount revived Union and worried San Lorenzo, encouraged by a good number of fans despite the day and unusual hours.

The changes of Insúa and Munúa showed what each one was looking for. The locals, already without an exhausted Cerutti, tried to hold on to the slightest advantage, but Union’s insistence paid off. In the fifth added minute, Castrillón overflowed from the left and sent the center for González’s frontal headerbefore the weak mark of Fernández Mercau.

The result, on balance, was the fairest.

On the next date, San Lorenzo will receive Talleres de Córdoba and Unión will face Godoy Cruz de Mendoza, in Santa Fe.
