San Lorenzo defeated Sarmiento this Monday night, in Junín, 1-0, and added its third victory in the Professional Football League (LPF) championship, with a goal from the returned central marker Federico Gattoni, who was in conflict with the Boedo club until the previous week, when he finally sealed his link with Sevilla, of Spain, which he will join next July.
Gattoni, who turned 24 last Thursday the 16th, finally unraveled a complicated situation that kept him out of the professional team led by Rubén Insúa because he refused to renew his contractual relationship, which expires next June, for which reason the leadership They imposed as a condition that he signed the agreement with the Spanish club to play again.
It was only when this materialized last week and it was resolved that at the beginning of the second half of this year he would be under the command of the team led by the Argentine Jorge Sampaoli, did Gattoni rejoin the team and once again be available to Insúa.
The “Gallego” immediately returned ownership to Gattoni for this match, although not the captaincy, which from within the squad it was resolved that it continue to belong to Jalil Elías, since in fact the central defender was also absent from part of the preseason and even went without permission 10 days ago to Italy to finish resolving the accreditation of his community passport.
But as usually happens in football with some players who are “touched” by the wand of good luck, just in the game of his return and after some open questioning from the “azulgrana” fans about his attitude, this Monday Gattoni was able to “reconcile” with them and with the rest of the estates of his club.
This happened 13 minutes into the complement of an insipid match, like most of those played in this LPF championship, when he scored the only goal in the San Lorenzista victory that allowed “Ciclón” to reach sixth place in the championship with 9 points, just three units behind the leader Lanús.
In return, San Lorenzo left Sarmiento in the 19th. location with four units but, what is more worrying for the Juninenses, is that they were on the verge of the relegation zone by table of averages in which they are now immersed and losing the Platense and Arsenal category.
While the third descent, which will correspond to the last of the Annual Table, today is being for Central Córdoba, from Santiago del Estero.
The bleeding head of Andrés Vombergar after an injury caused in the first half, which however was not an obstacle for him to play the 90 minutes, and an expulsion later annulled by the VAR of the Colombian Rafael Pérez for an infraction against Javier Toledo that only deserved a card yellow card, along with Gattoni’s goal and Augusto Batalla’s saves, were the best examples of the attributes of this San Lorenzo.
San Lorenzo won seven of the last eight official matches and the whole group embracing Gattoni reflected that symbol of unity and sacrifice that characterizes Insúa’s team.
“I am happy for the three points that we took from Junín and this is the merit of this great group. I only dedicate myself to playing and defending San Lorenzo, because many things were said that were not true. But I understand the fan who is angry with me, although I can sleep peacefully because I did things well. Ours is match by match and here is a team to fight for”, closed the “man of the day”, Federico Gattoni.
