The last champion of national football, San Antonio de Bulo Bulo, achieved a valuable victory in Cochabamba against Wilstermann, beating them 0-1 with a goal by José Vitor Trindade (10′), breaking a bad streak of four games without being able to win. Those from the Tropics got back into the race.
The match ended with controversial plays, first because a goal was disallowed for the Aviador after a shot by Rodríguez, and then because, at 90′, Rodrigo Amaral missed a penalty after Alonso Sánchez’s foul on Alex Cáceres, Thiago Leitao’s men protested after the defender was shown a red card.
In any case it was a reward for San Antonio who knew how to suffer, held back with Kevin Vera being decisive -especially blocking the penalty- and with a firm Gustavo Olguín to clear the balls that came.
Trinidad’s goal It happened in the first part of the matchas his powerful shot from the left was unstoppable for Bruno Poveda who remained static after the shot. It was the reward for a team that started better, plugged in and frequently putting pressure on the rival goal.
The only one who sought to disturb, in the entire match for Wilsterwas Jefferson Tavares, although erratic when it was his turn to set up. He was assisted by Amaral who ended up frustrated after missing a penalty shot that could have sealed the tie. The anger after the end of the match was evident.
There was also a protest in against referee Angel Flores He was the main protagonist due to the number of times he resorted to VAR. Firstly, for the expulsion of Jenry Alaca, which he later corrected, and then for the goal that was disallowed for the Aviador. Added to this was the penalty awarded, although Amaral wasted it.
With this victory, San Antonio rose to 13th place with 6 points, while Wilstermann finished eighth with 8 points. The celebration of those led by Leitao was effusive since they had not been able to celebrate for several dates.
