Samuel García will make a two-day tour of New York and Washington

Monterey, NL. The governor of Nuevo León, Samuel García Sepúlveda, will make a working tour this Monday, September 19 and Tuesday, September 20, through New York and Washington, in the United States.

On Monday, September 19, the president will attend the Clinton Global Initiative in New York, accompanied by his wife Mariana Rodríguez, owner of Amar a Nuevo León. The initiative was created in 2005 by former US President Bill Clinton to unite global leaders, create and implement solutions to the world’s most pressing challenges.

The Clinton Global Initiative It convenes, together with the United Nations General Assembly, more than 1,000 participants with the aim of promoting actions around economic recovery and inclusive growth, health equity, environmental resilience, refugee crisis, among other topics.

Also accompanying the governor on this work tour are Iván Rivas Rodríguez, Secretary of the Economy, Marco Antonio González Valdez, Secretary of Regional and Agricultural Development and director of the Corporation for Border Development (Codefront), and Emmanuel Loo, Undersecretary of Investment.

The Governor of Nuevo Leon will hold a meeting with company executives to present projects and programs of the State Economy and Regional and Agricultural Development Secretariats, at the Woodrow Wilson International Center for Scholars, known as The Wilson Center.

Subsequently, García Sepúlveda will meet with Anne McKinney, vice president of the Americas program, of the United States Chamber of Commercewhich brings together all the large corporations in North America, so that they continue to invest in Nuevo León and that the state maintain its leadership in attracting foreign investment and creating jobs.

A meeting is also scheduled with Esteban Moctezuma Barragán, Ambassador of Mexico to the United States and with technology and semiconductor companies, to analyze the possibility of continuing to work on strengthening the Colombia Bridge as the most important border crossing and continue strengthening the initiative to turn Nuevo León into the Silicon Valley of Latin America.

The semiconductor industry is going to invest a historical record of 250 billion dollars in the United States and Nuevo León seeks to be its Hub for Nearshoring since the state has the best human capital for this project by having the best universities and generating more of 8,000 engineers per year, and more than 20,000 technicians in advanced manufacturing.

The two-day working tour of the United States will end with a meeting headed by Governor Samuel Alejandro García Sepúlveda and Congressman Henry Cuellar. In addition, a meeting with Nancy Pelosi, president of the United States House of Representatives, is planned.
