Samaniego wants to be a two-time champion

Paraguayan Alejandro Samaniego, the only driver who won a South American, wants to add the second title, while continuing to obtain podiums in the main category of Brazilian karting, Graduated.

On June 4, the youth driver, Alejandro Samaniego, took victory in the third race of the fifth stage of the Sao Paulo Cup in Interlagos, the strongest category in the neighboring country, Graduated B, where our compatriot is evolving in each stage with a grid of at least 28 drivers. Continuing with good results, last June 11, regarding the National Championship, he took the victory starting from pole, taking all the series and the final of the date. Now, the driver is preparing for the South American that will be taking place again in Colombia, where he will seek to defend the title.

Alejandro Samaniego entered this world when he was very young. “Since I was a child I really loved motorsport, I started riding Moto Cross when I was six years old, until I discovered karting when I was eight, and from that day on I loved this sport”.

“This 2022 is quite interesting, but above all complicated, since I move to a higher category at the national level (Rotax Senior Max) and in Brazil I am running in the Graduated series, which is the strongest in Brazil. I participated in the Paulista championship in Interlagos, and the Paraguayan National. Abroad we are doing quite well, always fighting for the times and the podium in my category, while at the local level I try to stay on the podium” said Samaniego.

The runner already has his competitions set. “My next challenge is the South American Championship in Bogotá, Colombia. I am going to try to bring the Bi South American Championship to Paraguay. That requires a lot of practice, a lot of concentration and a lot of precision, because every thousandth counts. My biggest goals this year would be to bring the second South American Championship to Paraguay, and try again to fight for the World Cup, but this time later, my goal would be to reach F1 (Formula 1)”.

“I’m doing more or less in studies, it’s hard to run and study at the same time but whenever I have a little time I start to complete everything I need and study. On the other hand, I still haven’t clearly defined what I want to continue in the future, for now I stay with the sport”, he commented.

Regarding what would be karting lately Alejandro said that “the community was growing more, I still feel that more support is needed for this category of motorsports here in Paraguay. As for references in this sport, currently it would be Charles Leclerc and Lewis Hamilton, because I feel that they are very good drivers but unfortunately sometimes the team does not help them. However, the main ones would be my parents, since they taught me and continue to teach me many things and always support me”

Likewise, Samaniego highlighted the work of Joshua Duerksen, since he is the first Paraguayan to be in F3. “Thanks to him, many doors were opened in national motorsports. One day I would love to be able to sit in an F1 car, feel that adrenaline of driving at 340 km/h.
According to the Paraguayan driver, motor sport needs to be promoted and supported more in order to improve the tracks. “If the companies accompanied it, it would be possible to have a better place to be able to continue training Paraguayan pilots.”

As for soccer, Samaniego is a great fan, however, he feels identified with Sportivo Luqueño, the institution to which the family encourages. “I would say that I would be playing basketball, it is a sport that I quite like to watch, and also play when I have free time.”

“I would like to thank all those people and brands that are always supporting me, my family, my parents, who, thanks to their support, gave me the motivation to be able to move forward,” said Ale, who will soon be traveling with his father to prepare for the South American which will be on July 2 in Bogotá.
