Lilian Samaniego, national senator for the ANR (government party), gave a press conference, where she referred to the bill, which seeks to repeal an Agreement with the European Union, where the international entity will donate 38 million euros to be allocated to the education system.
The same was approved by the deputies last week being sent to the Upper House.
Samaniego said that for electoral purposes, some politicians who previously celebrated this measure now criticize it, regardless of the damage they cause to children and their families, confusing the public.
“Some 85 million euros have already been used, the rest was used in various areas such as social protection, MSMEs, small producers, NGOs. It also affects the scientific society since this money enters the General Budget of the Nation”, he maintained.
The legislator recalled that last Thursday they approved the creation of the professional practice of scientific research, so this sector will also be affected by the measure.
“It also affects the area of governance since the European Union supported the electoral system by providing resources to the Political Training School for women leaders held at the TSJE, some time ago,” he commented.
MINISTERS
From 2008 to date, the education ministers who received these resources were; Horacio Galeano Perrone, Luis Leal, Víctor Ríos, Horacio Galeano Perrone (for the second time), Marta Lafuente, Enrique Riera, Raúl Aguilera, Eduardo Petta, Juan Manuel Brunetti and Nicolás Zarate, who is currently in office.
