SalmonChile issued a statement referring to the situation exposed by the Superintendency of the Environment (SMA) against the salmon company Nova Austral.
Let us remember that the SMA ordered the revocation of three Environmental Qualification Resolutions (RCA) granted to the salmon company with Norwegian capital, after accusing it of causing serious damage to the Alberto de Agostini National Park in Magallanes.

The Superintendent of the Environment (s), Emanuel Ibarra described the decision as “historic”, since the portfolio had never “applied this sanction, and since the creation of the new environmental institutionality, no environmental permit had ever been revoked”.
In this regard, from SalmonChile – a guild that brings together more than 50 salmon production and supplier companies – they indicated that “for several years the salmon farming sector has been working resolutely and focused on promoting environmental ethics, transparency, sustainability and constructive dialogue “.
“In this context, we deeply regret that situations such as the one currently being carried out by Nova Austral, a company that is not part of this union, are generated, and we are emphatic in rejecting these events categorically and energetically, since they do not correspond to common practices or to the goals that we have set for ourselves within the salmon farming sector,” they add.
