The Minister of Public Health, Daniel Salinas, is thinking of leaving his position at the end of this year or the beginning of the next. In dialogue with the press, the leader of Cabildo Abierto, Guido Manini Ríos, confirmed that he spoke with Salinas about it and listened to his reasons.
“I am going to reiterate a phrase that I said at the time: I am 95% a doctor and now I have an important job to deliver in the coming months. I think I already have a horizon to round off my activity. It is an issue that I will discuss with the President of the Republic, in a timely manner,” the minister said at a press conference.
“What I want to say is that I have several roads that I have to close and community service chapters that are ongoing throughout October, November, December, January, but I do appreciate that you do not necessarily have to eternalize yourself in the positions , that one is not screwed to the charges”, he added.

Salinas also reflected on how these three years at the head of the ministry, and as head of the government strategy against COVID-19, have been particularly exhausting for him.
