The number of new motor vehicles (cars, light commercial vehicles, trucks and buses) sold in September 2025 in the country was 243.2 thousand units2.9% above that recorded in the same month last year.
The data, released this Wednesday (8), are from the National Association of Motor Vehicle Manufacturers (Anfavea).
The production of motor vehicles also grew, reaching 243.4 thousand units in September, 5.8% higher than that recorded in September 2024. Exports totaled 52.5 thousand units, a jump of 26.2% about the same month last year.
Imports reached 42.4 thousand units, 0.4% below the figure recorded in September 2024. The share of imported sales fell in the ninth month of the year: 18.1% in June; 18.6%, in July; 17.6% in August; and 17.4%, in September.
YTD
In the year to date, from January to September, sales of motor vehicles were 1.91 million units, 2.8% higher than the same period in 2024. Production increased by 6% (1.98 million in 2025 compared to 1.87 million in 2024).
Exports registered a jump of 51.6% (430.8 thousand in 2025 compared to 284.2 thousand in 2024) and imports rose 10.4% (355.6 thousand in 2025 compared to 322.1 in 2024).
