The sale of vehicles New (between light and heavy) would grow 15% this year and will reach the placement of 195,000 units, Scotiabank estimated. In this way, the entity estimated that a marketing record would be marked.
According to the financial entity, the result is a consequence of improving the real income of people, given the increase in private formal employment and lower inflationary pressures.
Similarly, he pointed out that this increase is a consequence of the appreciation of the sun against the dollar, which promotes the purchase of vehicles since it lowers the price of the local currency and improves credit conditions.
“On the side of heavy vehicles, sales would be driven by the greater demand of units by companies in the mining and construction sectors and, to a lesser extent, for the demand for buses by personnel transport companies,” said Scotiabank.
Better advance
On the other hand, the financial entity reported that the sale of new vehicles in Peru grew 21% between January and July of this year. This percentage was only below 68.9% of Argentina and 26.7% of Colombia.
“In the medium term we have an interesting growth potential, since, with figures at the end of 2024, 4.9 vehicles per thousand inhabitants were placed in Peru, below what is placed in Chile (16.1), Brazil (12.5), Argentina (9.0), and Ecuador (6.0),” he said.
