Salary readjustments for negotiations in March are equal to the INPC

The median readjustment of salaries obtained in salary negotiations in March this year was equal to the National Consumer Price Index (INPC) accumulated in the last 12 months, of 10.8%. According to the monthly bulletin of the Economic Research Institute Foundation (Fipe), Salariómetro – Labor Market and Collective Bargaining, the month of March repeated the pattern of the last 12 months, with a null or negative median real increase.Salary readjustments for negotiations in March are equal to the INPC

According to the bulletin, out of every six negotiations, only one resulted in a real increase above the INPC, which brought the proportion of readjustments above the index of 16.1%. The proportion of readjustments below the INPC was 49.9%, while the negotiations in which increases equal to the index were obtained was 34.1%. The proportion of average readjustments was 10.1%.

The bulletin also indicated that the hybrid work regime is a topic with increasing space in collective bargaining. The most frequent clauses in agreements and collective agreements in the first quarter of 2022 were the control of working hours, which appears in 50.6% of collective agreements and in 1.5% of collective agreements. Next comes the allowance (75.1% and 29.9%), flexible hours (36.7% and 43.3%), and accident prevention (69.6% and 6.7%).
