The lower house approved a salary increase for judicial clerks with 57 votes in favor. Officials will receive salaries not less than 75% of what is received by judges of first instance, plus bonuses corresponding to the position.
The Chartist deputies were defenders of the increase and the opposition refused, saying that this means “opening the tap” so that other sectors also request salary increases.
They analyzed the draft amendment to Law 4992/2013 “which regulates, modifies and expands the functions of the clerks of courts and tribunals of the Judicial Power” as a motion of preference of the Chartist deputy Miguel Tadeo Rojas.
