He added that he proposed dialogues and that the sectors They see it as positive, so all that remains is to reach an agreement to put it into operation.
“The proposal, both worker sectoras of employers should be discussed in the National Wage Committeewhich is the institutional space for it”, said de Camps García during the IV Ibero-American Conference of Ministers of Labor and Highest Responsible for Social Security that is being held in Bávaro, La Altagracia province.
He indicated that the objective is to have the decision of the salary increase ASAP. He did not specify how much the increase would be, but affirmed that it will be improved.
“The government of Luis Abinader will not see a simple adjustment by inflationbecause it is necessary to adjust the inflation and increase,” added the official.
In addition, he commented that the amount that is increased above the inflationit has to be enough to close the gap.

The President of the National Council of Union UnitRafael (Pepe) Abreu, said that the declaration of the Minister of Labor “is a hard truth”, but that the businessmen have turned around a lot about it.
“He (Minister of Labor) knows very well that the attempt that was made as a result of the proposal that, precisely, he made last year, was that with the businessmen, but these gentlemen went round and round and round and, ultimately, never responded to that proposal that we welcomed as part of the labor force”, emphasized Pepe Abreu.
Regarding the pact, Abreu pointed out that it is necessary, first, to discuss the salary increase that corresponds this year and later focus on making the pact.
“After the increase we could enter what would be a strategic pact for the salary that could have a ceiling of five years so that we can discuss the progressive increase of the wages”, he pointed out.
He added that the pact could include the salary indexation because this would make it possible for workers who do not benefit from the minimum to do so.

Three weeks ago the meeting of the National Wage Committee (CNS), where the union centrals presented their proposal to make a 35% increase in the minimum wage and, also, that a salary agreement be made.

“Next Monday the National Wages Committee meets at ten in the morning and we go with the same position of 35% increase and we are going to ask the government that, since there are three parties, we already made a proposal, the businessmen have no proposal, well, then, that the government make a proposal ”, indicated Jacobo Ramos, president of the National Confederation of Dominican workers (CNTD).
