Through the deployment of local operations, the Administrative Service of Identification, Migration and Foreigners (Saime) granted more than 10 thousand identity cards throughout the Venezuelan territory during the last August. Through the routes Manuelita Sáenz, José Gregorio Hernández, Penitentiary and Indigenous, the Saime works in the right to identification of the population, to bring this service directly to communities, work centers, health and homes.
The figure was achieved with the execution of several strategic plans, and the Manuelita Sáenz route was the most impact, facilitating the renewal of cards to 5,558 workers and employees of government agencies and companies. This route was deployed in 28 public and private institutions in the country, to facilitate the process to the work centers.
Another social programs that also yielded significant results was the attention to indigenous communities, in which a total of 995 native citizens renewed the identity document. On the other hand, the “Antonio José de Sucre” plan cedulated 1,303 people, while Operation Caracas smiles attended 1 thousand 501 inhabitants of the capital, in different parishes of the Libertador municipality.
The Saime also extended its efforts to citizens with special needs on the José Gregorio Hernández route, which toured 12 states of the country, and attended citizens with medical pathologies or reduced mobility, by carrying the identification service to their homes to guarantee its inclusion. Additionally, specific days were held that benefit key populations through the “Penitentiary” route, where 533 deprived of liberty obtained their ID. To these are added the 695 Caracas attended in a social day for peace and life.
