In the 470 sailing class, Isabel Swan and Henrique Haddad had a Tuesday (6) of ups and downs. In the first race of the day they finished only in 13th place. However, they recovered in the following race, when they were in first place.
Two other regattas initially scheduled for this Tuesday were canceled due to weather conditions. Thus, the Brazilian boat is in 10th place overall and has qualified for the medal race (a medal race that includes the 10 best-placed boats at the end of the first phase). The final race in the category is scheduled for next Wednesday (7), starting at 10:43 am (Brasília time). The sailing competitions are held in the Bay of Marseille, on the southern coast of France.

In the Nacra 17 class, there will also be a medal race with Brazilian sailors João Siemsen and Marina Arndt. After the first 12 races in the category, they finished in 10th place overall, within the qualifying zone for the medal race. In the three races held on Tuesday, they finished in 8th, 13th and 14th places. The final race in this class is scheduled for 9:43 am on Wednesday.
Despite being present in the medal race in both the 470 and Nacra 17 classes, the Brazilian boats no longer have a mathematical chance of reaching the podium.
Kite Formula
Brazilian Bruno Lobo remains in 7th place in Formula Kite (kitesurfing). On Tuesday, of the four races initially scheduled, only two were held. In the first, the athlete from Maranhão finished in 9th place. He recovered and improved in the second race of the day, crossing the finish line in 5th place. The next races in the category are scheduled for Wednesday morning.
