The Ministry of Agriculture and Rural Development (Sader) maintained that throughout 2022 it maintained approaches with embassies of countries from the five continents, seeking to specify various projects in agriculture, fisheries, aquaculture and livestock, as well as issues related to the technology transfer, some of which would materialize throughout 2023.

While with South Africa it was agreed to strengthen technological and scientific cooperation, on issues such as desertification and nixtamalization of white corn, as well as the promotion of the development of more resilient agri-food systems, with representatives of countries such as Morocco the possibility of expanding the commercial relationship was discussed. in products such as coffee, sugar, guava, bovine meat and fertilizers.

In a statement, Sader explained that its head, Víctor Manuel Villalobos Arámbula, led the actions of international cooperation and exchange of experiences and technology in agri-food matters, to face the impacts of the global situation derived from climate change, the conflict in Eastern Europe and the rise in the price of inputs.

As part of this, the agency is preparing an agenda to promote Mexican farm and sea products in Singapore, which it described as the gateway to the Asia-Pacific region.

In addition, in the markets of said area, it seeks to diversify exports of avocado, fruit, vegetables, artichokes, broccoli, asparagus, meat, lobster, octopus, prawns, abalone, shrimp and organic coffee, among others.

Meanwhile, with the Indian ambassador to Mexico, Pankaj Sharma, It was agreed to expand scientific-technological cooperation ties in agri-food matters and the training of professionals in the sector, with the collaboration of specialized academic and research institutions, such as the Chapingo Autonomous University.

At the same time, Sader pointed out that as a result of a study on fishing resources in Central America, it was decided to strengthen technical and scientific capacities in the matter with the countries of the region.
