The customer service channels of the Basic Sanitation Company of the State of São Paulo (Sabesp) are being gradually reestablished following a cyber incident, the Company reported this Wednesday (23). Yesterday (22), Sabesp released a statement about having been the target of a cyber attack that caused instability in its digital network.
Today, the Virtual Agency and the telephone exchange 0800 055 0195 are available. In-person service at more than 400 branches across the state of São Paulo continues to operate, by appointment at the Virtual Agency.
WhatsApp (11 3388-8000) partially resumed operations, making most services available, such as records of water shortages, leaks, temporary shutdown, reconnection, change of due date and payment information. Sabesp’s chatbot is temporarily offline.
According to the company, at the time, all security and control measures were immediately adopted, in addition to a plan to restore the affected systems. However, the waiting time for service today may be above average at certain times.
“According to the ongoing forensic investigation, to date, no compromise of personal data has been identified. Water supply and sewage collection and treatment operations were not affected by the cyber attack,” he said in a note, updated this Wednesday.
