An advance of 66.14% presents the Sabanitas II Water Treatment Plant, as indicated by the Department of Social Management and the Department of Protection and Environmental Control of the Engineering Directorate of the National Institute of Aqueducts and Sewers (IDAAN), who carried out an inspection in the province of Colón, to the project.
This project has an approximate investment of B/.111,308,228.39, and will supply drinking water to more than 200,000 inhabitants of the city of Colón, which includes the surrounding towns of Sabanitas, Cativá, Barrio Norte, Barrio Sur, Puerto Pilón, Limón, Nueva Providencia. , Cristobal, San Juan, Santa Rosa, Buena Vista and Salamanca.
As contemplated in the award, this work includes a new building for the IDAAN regional office in Colón and will provide some 30 million gallons of water per day, including the construction of a Raw Water Intake in Gatun Lake, next to the existing; storage tanks for distribution of 10, 2 and 5 million gallons per day in the drinking water treatment plant, Villa Catalina and Santa Rita, respectively. It also has an adduction line and driving lines.
