Saab: Trump exposes US plan to steal Venezuelan resources

The Attorney General of the Republic, Tarek William Saab, reiterated this Wednesday the complaint about the actions by the US Government, three years after the kidnapping of diplomat Alex Saab and the unilateral coercive measures that affect the population of Venezuela.

In this sense, Saab referred to the statements of the Former President of the United States (USA) Donald Trump, who recognized that his government’s intentions were to steal Venezuela’s oil.

This weekend, at a press conference from North Carolina, Trump said: “What do you think we are buying oil from Venezuela? When I left, Venezuela was about to collapse. We would have done it! We would have taken all their oil! It would have been right next door! But now we buy oil from Venezuela. We are making a dictator very rich! Can you believe it? Nobody can believe it!”

In this regard, the Attorney General indicated that with these statements, Trump unmasked the plan that the US has had against Venezuela since the arrival of the Bolivarian Revolution and with the attacks that intensified after former President Barack Obama declared the country a “threat unusual and extraordinary to the security of the nation.”

“The plan that they have had all their lives and that was revealed by Donald Trump. There is a denunciation and a confession of someone who in recent times, together with internal lackeys, wanted – he said so – to steal the natural resources of Venezuela, not only oil, coltan, gas, natural waters, the entrances, let’s say, to the Caribbean facades, because geopolitically Venezuela is located in a privileged place in South America,” said the prosecutor at the Lawfare forum against Venezuela three years after the kidnapping of Alex Saab, which took place at the Teresa Carreño Theater, Caracas.

In the same way, he reviewed the difficulties and aggressions that the people of Venezuela have resisted and defeated.

However, it indicated that the attacks escalated after the physical departure of Commander Hugo Chávez.

On the other hand, Saab highlighted that important events of resistance and victory have taken place in Venezuela, such as the execution by the North American Government of the Coup d’état against the presidency of Commander Hugo Rafael Chávez Frías, which occurred on April 11, 2022, on which, had three years of having reached the government by electoral means after a constituent process that gave us the best programmatic Constitution on Human Rights (DDHH).

In the same context, this Constitution guarantees civil, political, economic, social, cultural, indigenous and environmental rights, which “have allowed the formation of a state of justice and participation in any error attributable to a modern democracy like Venezuela’s,” he specified. .

In turn, he affirmed that the oil strike caused the economic loss of 25 billion dollars, as part of strategies to destabilize the economy in the country; “When we thought that everything had stabilized with the victories in 2006 and 2012, the unfortunate death of Commander Hugo Chávez occurred.”

He recalled the assassination attempt against Commander Chávez in 2002 and then the use of drones against President Maduro on Avenida Bolívar on August 4, 2018; “In other words, the two heads of state elected by the Venezuelan people in the last 25 years have been victims of attempted assassination,” he specified.

Saab also highlighted the attempted maritime incursion through the use of hired mercenaries, which is unpunished in the United States despite the fact that its author acknowledged that the intention was enter Venezuela and kill the President of the Republic.

It should be remembered that, with the arrival of Trump to the White House, the attacks against Venezuela intensified with the application of more than 900 sanctions that directly harmed the Venezuelan people.

In this regard, he indicated that, in a civil-military union together with the leadership of the President of the Bolivarian Republic of Venezuela, Nicolás Maduro and the country’s democratic institutions, “we have resisted and won, even in the midst of the criminal sanctions imposed by the American imperialism”.
