Saab: It is a joke that González Urrutia comes to be sworn in

Tarek William Saab: “Every public official must turn to the people”

The attorney general, Tarek William Saab, responded to the statements of Edmundo González Urrutia in which he affirms that he will return to Venezuela to “swear in as president-elect.”

Because the National Assembly is the one who swears in whoever has been elected president. The prosecutor also referred to the progress in the corruption cases carried out by the Public Ministry.

On this topic, he pointed out: “If we go to the issue of the oil industry, there were 34 corruption schemes in PDVSA and we have prosecuted several former ministers, but we are still investigating and in the coming days we will issue a statement on the scope of all the investigations. what we have done.”

He took stock of cases at the national level and stated that “there are 9,362 accusations, 21,851 charges in the last seven years and approximately 6,000 convictions have been obtained, evidence of the hard work carried out by the Prosecutor’s Office.”
