The Attorney General of the Republic (FGR), Tarek William Saab, clarified that in Venezuela the Electoral Power is not “Súmate” or the website that was created by the Venezuelan extreme right.
This statement was made by the holder of the criminal action in response to journalist Fernando del Rincón’s question “Where are the minutes?” during an interview given this Wednesday to the American network CNN.
Saab ruled that those who have the final say regarding the elections are two Powers, the Judicial Power that with expertise verified that the count given by the Electoral Power was correct, and the Electoral Power that gave the result and proclaimed Nicolás Maduro as reelected President.
“Where are the minutes? They said, Súmate has them, for God’s sake, Súmate is a private company that has existed since 2001 to carry out electoral frauds such as the one in the 2023 primaries” Saab emphasized to a Fernando del Rincón who lost control several times in the program, showing his lack of objectivity as a journalist, according to a press release from the Public Ministry (MP).

Saab said that an attempt is being made to create a matrix of opinion regarding the fact that the Public Ministry is violating due process and carrying out arbitrary arrests.
“We are preparing a full report, which we will present to the UN at the time, which could be at the end of this year, on how all this happened in Venezuela and who is truly responsible for the violation of human rights,” he said.
He referred to the fact that there are recordings and evidence of those detained, including some from Anzoátegui, who incited people to set fire to the Puerto La Cruz City Hall.
“The mayor’s office was one of the most besieged and the person arrested for having publicly exposed the burning of public institutions and inciting hatred. Remember that there was a prosecutor who did not want to charge them saying that there was no evidence, but the evidence is in the video, when they ordered the burning of the mayor’s office. (The prosecutor) was arrested, prosecuted and deprived of liberty” he said.
Saab said that the situation seems like a farcical but very delicate play that proves the crimes that were committed.
