In a statement, the Attorney General of the Republic, Tarek William Saab, rejected the report presented by the so-called Fact-Finding Mission on the Bolivarian Republic of Venezuela, indicating that the aforementioned text attempts to portray the “serious acts of violence” that took place after the elections of July 28 “as peaceful protests.”
In this regard, the highest representative of the Public Prosecutor’s Office stated that “it is a report designed and executed to fuel international attacks against Venezuela, which denies the existence of unilateral coercive measures that have caused serious damage to the country and its inhabitants; which denies the coup and assassination attempts, as well as the operations with mercenaries carried out with foreign support and the continued foreign interference in the internal affairs of Venezuela.”
Violence in figures
The statement provides figures on the consequences of post-election violence, stating that “486 attacks on public and private institutions and property were recorded, including 75 educational centres, 41 health centres, 50 facilities and means of transport, 253 security force facilities, 10 electoral centres, 7 headquarters of public administration institutions, 27 statues and monuments, 13 commercial establishments and 10 headquarters of political organisations”.
The text of the document states that “The attempt to present these serious acts of violence as peaceful protest speaks of the bad intentions and lack of scruples of the members of the Mission.”
There are no complaints about police excesses
The statement from the Public Prosecutor’s Office states that to date no complaint has been filed against any police or military officer who “is linked to being responsible for the deaths and injuries during the post-election violence. And if any are filed, they will be investigated as is the daily practice of our institution.”

Release
The so-called Fact-Finding Mission on the Bolivarian Republic of Venezuela has issued a new compendium of attacks on Venezuelan institutions that it intends to present as a report.
This mechanism was created in 2019 to attack Venezuela by order of the United States and the defunct Lima Group. It was created to boycott the agreements and work that the Bolivarian Republic of Venezuela has carried out with the Office of the United Nations High Commissioner for Human Rights since that same year 2019.
Once again, the members of the deceptive Mission present biased, uncontestable information, based on anonymous testimonies, interpreted on the basis of their prejudices and without details or evidence that allow for its review.
It is a report designed and executed to fuel international attacks against Venezuela, which denies the existence of unilateral coercive measures that have caused serious damage to the country and its inhabitants; which denies the coup and assassination attempts, as well as the mercenary operations carried out with foreign support and the continued foreign interference in Venezuela’s internal affairs.
In its distorted representation of the country’s situation, it also denies the numerous investigations, charges and accusations made by the Public Prosecutor’s Office against officials who have committed human rights violations, as well as the sentences handed down by the Judiciary against many of them.
The serious acts of violence that followed the presidential elections on July 28 included, in addition to the deaths of 27 people, two of them GNB officials, 195 people were injured, of which 97 are officials.
The Public Prosecutor’s Office recorded 486 attacks on public and private institutions and property, including 75 educational centers, 41 health centers, 50 facilities and means of transportation, 253 security force facilities, 10 electoral centers, 7 headquarters of public administration institutions, 27 statues and monuments, 13 commercial establishments and 10 headquarters of political organizations.
The attempt to present these serious acts of violence as peaceful protest speaks of the bad intentions and lack of scruples of the members of the Mission.
It is important to note that there is no complaint linking police or military officials as responsible for the deaths and injuries during the post-election violence. And if any are filed, they will be investigated as is the daily practice of our institution.
Finally, this group, whose term expired at the end of 2020 and who has never set foot on national territory, insists on creating false scenarios of violations of Human Rights in our country, while ignoring the will of the Venezuelan people, exercised on July 28, 2024 and subsequently ratified by the Supreme Court of Justice through the Electoral Chamber on August 22 of this year.
Venezuela is a country that guarantees human rights, with a model Constitution in this area and extensive legislation that develops them.
The Public Prosecutor’s Office will remain vigilant in safeguarding Peace, Justice and Human Rights for Venezuelan families.
Caracas, September 20, 2024.
Tarek William Saab
Attorney General of the Bolivarian Republic of Venezuela.
