The Attorney General of the Republic, Tarek William Saab, warned that the extremist opposition intends to lead Venezuelans “into a fratricidal confrontation,” and to do so they are making attempts to create the embryos of civil war.
The head of the criminal action, during his participation in the digital media program La Iguana TV, recounted a series of violent events that have been systematically occurring since the arrival of the Bolivarian revolution and that have continued to the present. .
Saab pointed out that the extreme right has carried out all types of actions, and has used “conventional and unconventional weapons”, which leads to what is called “hybrid war” against the Bolivarian revolution.
“Whether it is a coup d’état, a lawfare, an insurrection, a bloodbath through a civil war, generating hatred against those of us who are representing at this moment in Venezuela the authority of the legitimately constituted State,” he noted that the aim is to achieve destruction of government structures.
For Saab, there is no doubt that they intend to unleash violence by creating an “embryo of civil war, perfecting terror using all available resources.”
He considers that everything that the extremist sector of the opposition has done, supported by foreign interests, is due to the intention of “stealing and looting our oil, gas, coltan, water (…) so that Venezuela can once again be the colony that It was from the United States. “They have said it, that this territory belongs to them.”
Saab recalled that the “campaigns” to overthrow the Bolivarian government have caused numerous deaths and injuries. He recalled that the far-right plan that became known as “La Salida” in 2014 left 48 dead and 800 injured.
He assured that from this moment on, a “hybrid war phase would worsen, which is the use of the media and social networks to criminalize the Venezuelan State.”
The head of the criminal action maintained that such actions have been designed to lead to the so-called economic sanctions, which have been applied massively with the aim of generating unrest in the population.
“The sanctions are massive violations of human rights, because the so-called economic sanctions are not to sanction a government, but an entire people. Even the UN has recognized that,” Saab warned.
