Relatives of the deceased Argentine coach Miguel Ángel Russo began to spread his ashes in the stadiums of four Argentine clubs, starting with Boca Juniorsa team he led until his death on October 8 due to complications from cancer.
As sources from Russo’s family confirmed to EFE this Thursday, the first ashes were scattered on the lawn of ‘La Bombonera’, in an intimate ceremony in which the president of the club, Juan Roman Riquelmeand members of the First Division team led by midfielder Leandro Paredes.
The remains of Russo, who died in Buenos Aires on October 8 at the age of 69 after a long battle against cancer, they will also be scattered in the stadiums of three other clubs: Lanusa club from his hometown and which he led to promotion in 1990 and 1992; Students of La Platawhere he spent his entire playing career and which he also coached on two occasions; and Central Rosarya team from the province of Santa Fe that he coached five times and with which he was crowned champion in 2023.
