Russian Defense Ministry reports 498 dead Russian soldiers

So far, the military operation launched on February 24 by Russian President Vladimir Putin has left 498 Russian soldiers dead and 1,597 wounded, as announced by the Russian Defense Ministry.

Meanwhile, casualties on the Ukrainian side amount to more than 2,870 dead, 3,700 wounded, and 572 soldiers captured.

The Russian military is removing a real threat to Russia that until recently emanated from Ukraine, where NATO bases were to appear, the ministry said, clarifying that all talk of “untold” casualties is targeted disinformation.

According to the Defense Ministry report, a total of 1,533 Ukrainian military infrastructure facilities have been attacked during the Russian operation, including 54 command posts and communication nodes of the Armed Forces of Ukraine, 39 air defense missile systems S -300, Buk-M1 and Osa, as well as 52 radar stations.

At the same time, 47 aircraft, 484 tanks and other combat vehicles, 63 multiple rocket launchers, 217 field artillery pieces and mortars, in addition to 336 special military vehicles and 47 unmanned aerial vehicles were destroyed.

-Last Thursday, the Russian president announced “a special military operation to defend Donbass.” In a special message to Russian citizens, the president explained that the objective of the operation is “to protect people who have been subjected to abuse and genocide by the Kiev regime for eight years.”

-The Russian Defense Ministry assured that the Russian Armed Forces target the Ukrainian military infrastructure and do not attack either the surrendered troops or the civilian population.
