The Attorney General’s Office filed the indictment against a Russian citizen and three other people accused of being part of a criminal network dedicated to fraud through online sports betting.
According to judicial police investigators this call to trial affects the Russian citizen Sergei Vagin, as well as Gina Paola García-Herreros Borda, Cristian Leonardo Reyes Muñoz and Jorge Antonio Casas León.
The specialized prosecutor delegated for this case reported that the four captured in this criminal proceeding have a measure of deprivation of liberty and serve their detention in prison.

During the course of the investigation it was established that the organization allegedly had an illegal model in which, initially, it contacted and convinced different people to deliver personal data to create profiles in virtual bookmakers, bank accounts and emails.
The technical experts of the Prosecutor’s Office determined that later each of the online users received money orders from Europe.
According to the investigators, said resources, presumably, were destined to make fraudulent bets in different sports tournaments around the world.
“The investments would be directed by the designated ringleaders in Russia and other countries, on behalf of the account holders. Finally, the structure accompanied the winners of the bets to claim the sums set as prizes”, declared the judicial police investigators.
It was also determined that all the criminal scaffolding, apparently, generated profits of 115% and 220%. The prosecutors stated that based on the evidence collected, it is indicated that Those captured managed to move more than 1,600 million pesos, since October 2020.

The Prosecutor’s Office is waiting for the Judiciary to define the court that will take on the case and set the date for the respective indictment hearing.
