A few hours after the US President announced that he would press Moscow and shorten the deadline to reach a ceasefire in the conflict with Ukraine, the Russia attacked the neighboring country, leaving 20 dead.
Tonight’s bombings targeted a prison in Zaporizehzia, a residential area and a hospital in the Dnipropetrovs region.
The attacks on the prison left and 35 injured, according to Ukrainian presidential administration, Andriï Iermak, who denounced “another war crime committed by the Russians” and called for sanctions from Russia.
“The Putin regime, which also threatens the United States through some of its spokespersons, needs to face economic and military blows that deprive it of the ability to continue war,” Iermak said in X.
“This is another crime of Russian war, which will not stop if they are not detained,” he added.
Through Telegram, Governor Ivan Fedorov reported that the penitentiary buildings were destroyed and the surrounding residences were damaged.
Russian forces regularly attack the region of Zaporizehzia since the beginning of the war in February 2022. Russia unilaterally declared the annexation of parts of this region, but Kiev and Western allies accuse Moscow of illegal land appropriation.
The other three bombings in the Dnipropetrovsk region left at least four dead and eight injured, the head of regional administration, Sergiï Lysak, said.
