The director of the Department of Latin America of the Russian Ministry of Foreign Affairs, Alexander Shchetinin, highlighted on Tuesday the cooperation with the countries of the region, despite pressure from the West.
In the Magisterial Conference: Russia its vision of the contemporary world Shchetinin noted that they hope to strengthen the approach among the nations of Latin America.
“We are ready to continue supporting development with Latin Americaeven understanding when they are under pressure from Western countries, we hope to develop our interaction because our approach is sincere,” Shchetinin said, during his speech at the conference that takes place at the Casa Amarilla, Caracas.

“We never put our friends in dilemmas about who they are with. It is a wrong choice, it is not our way. We promote relations of reciprocal respect based on international law, ”she emphasized.
Until now, Russia maintains connections with 27 countries in Latin America and the Caribbean, and has repeatedly highlighted the importance of Venezuela for cooperation.
Meeting with Foreign Minister Faria
Before the meeting, Schetinin held a meeting with the Minister for Foreign AffairsCarlos Faría, in which they evaluated the cooperation agreements between both nations.
