The concerts of the Russian rock group Mumiy Troll, critical of the invasion of Ukraine ordered by Vladimir Putin almost a year ago, were canceled “for reasons beyond the control of the organizers and the artists,” the website reported on Monday (02.20.2023). from the band.
The 7×7 portal (Horizontal Russia) published a screenshot of a group concert ticket sale where the performances scheduled for March in places like Riazan, Kursk or Yaroslavl are marked as cancelled.
The band’s producer, Alisa Seregina, refused to explain to the TASS agency the reasons for the cancellation, which has forced the sale of tickets to the public to stop as part of a tour across the country.
The group, originally from Vladivostok, was founded in 1983 by its leader and singer Ilia Lagutenko, and has released nine official albums, being one of the favorite bands of several generations of Russians.
Like other musicians and bands such as Mashina Vremeni, Akvarium, Bi-2, DDT, Zemfira and Monetochka, Mumiy Troll expressed his disagreement with the so-called Russian “military special operation” in Ukraine.

The Russian authorities have canceled in the last twelve months the concerts of numerous musical groups whose members publicly criticized the president, Vladimir Putin, and the Russian Army.
