The Russian army announced a new humanitarian truce for the evacuation of civilians in Ukraine, starting at 07:00 GMT (09:00 local) on Wednesday, after humanitarian corridors were opened during the day.
“Russia announces a ceasefire regime from March 9 at 10:00 a.m. Moscow time, and is ready to create humanitarian corridors,” said the cell in charge of these issues in the Russian government, quoted by the news agency. TASS news.
According to the Russian government, this proposal will be transmitted to the Ukrainian authorities, who must, as the day before, confirm by 00:00 GMT the place where the humanitarian corridors will be located and from what time they will be able to work.
The first evacuation corridors for civilians were installed on Tuesday morning, in particular in Soumy, in the northeast, from where two caravans departed that day.
Evacuations also continued in the Kiev region, the Ukrainian capital.
In other cities, Boutcha in the north or Mariupol in the south, civilians were still blocked.
