Russian Foreign Ministry spokeswoman Maria Zajárova wrote on her social media on Friday that “the hysteria in the White House is more revealing than ever.”
In this way, the spokeswoman referred to the alert launched earlier on the same day by the United States about “the clear possibility” that Russia attacks Ukraine next week, for which she asked its citizens to leave the country in the next 48 hours and ordered to deploy 3000 more soldiers in Poland.
Zakharova pointed out that provocations, disinformation and threats are “the favorite method” of “Anglo-Saxons” to solve their own problems.
Furthermore, he highlighted that the whole world is watching militarism and imperial ambitions reveal themselves.
With all this, the spokeswoman for the Russian Foreign Ministry insisted on the warmongering dangers that hang over the region. “The Anglo-Saxons want war at all costs […] The US political-military machinery is ready to overwhelm human lives again,” he remarked.
In recent days, several Western media have been accusing the Eurasian giant of considering a possible Russian invasion of Ukraine that would leave thousands dead and millions displaced.
Russia’s ambassador to the United States, Anatoly Antonov, has accused Washington of waging “an information war” for saying Moscow is preparing a video of an alleged attack by Ukrainian forces to justify an invasion of Ukraine.
While Russia rules out any invasion of Ukraine, the situation in eastern Europe adjoining Russian territory remains hot. The United States has been mobilizing new contingents of soldiers to Poland in the last two days and the Ukrainian Army continues to train on a large scale.
Given this situation, the West invites Russia to a new round of talks to “find a diplomatic way forward.” A telephone conversation is scheduled for February 12 between Russian President Vladimir Putin and his US counterpart Joe Biden.
