The Criminal Chamber of the Supreme Court of Justice rejected the extraordinary request for annulment raised by the defense of former ABC Color journalist Marcos Velázquez, thus the sentence of one year and nine months that was imposed on him remains firm.
Ministers Manuel Ramírez Candia, Carolina Llanes and Luis María Benítez Riera declared the appeal inadmissible. posed by Velazquez against the sentence of first and second instance of one year and nine months, apart from a composition of G. 20 million that was imposed upon finding him guilty of the acts of defamation, slander and insult against the president of the South American Football Confederation (Conmebol) Alejandro Domínguez.
Velázquez through his account on the social network Twitter wrote a series of accusations against Domínguez whom he accused of corruption in Conmebol, said that the leader kept money from the sale of television rights.

This case also started from some posts on Twitter by the former ABC journalist where he accused Domínguez without evidence and, unable to prove his statements, was sentenced.
