Rural electrification projects delivered in El Seibo and Monte Plata

He Ministry of Energy and Mines (MEM) delivered several projects this weekend rural electrification in the provinces of El Seibo and Mount Silverwith an investment that exceeds 37 million pesos, benefiting nearly 500 families from six rural communities.

The favored locations are The Cuey, Pedro Sanchez and The Gorreta (Mata de Palma section), in El Seibo; as well as The Detour, The CapableLos Pajones, El Mogote and La Jagüita, in the Mamá Tingó municipal district, Don Juan, in Mount Silver.

The Minister of Energy and Mines, Joel Santoshighlighted that these projects are part of the commitment of the president Luis Abinader to bring energy to every corner of the national territory.

Santos explained that the facilities delivered, many of them based on solar energythey guarantee a stable supplyreduce costs, increase productive opportunities and raise the quality of life.

He urged the community to take care of the works and make a rational use of energy. “These facilities are yours. Their good use will guarantee that this light continues to accompany your growth and well-being,” he stated.

The projects

In The Cuey they were installed photovoltaic systems for 22 families, each composed of a 555 Wp solar panel, inverter, regulator and battery, for a total power of 12.21 kWp and an investment of 2.6 million pesos.

In Pedro Sanchez they were placed 30 solar panels of 555 Wp, with its complete kits, reaching an installed power of 16.65 kWp for the same number of homes, with an investment of 3.1 million pesos.

In The GorretaMata de Palma section, three stages of the network extension electricity, with an investment of RD$9.8 million pesos, expanding the scope of formal service in this area.

In The Capable and Los Pajones, were placed 61 posts2,454 meters of power lines, 106 connections and 31 LED lights, for an installed power of 125 kVA and an investment of 6.9 million pesos.

  • In the El Mogote community, the first stage of network rehabilitation and extension was carried out, benefiting 197 homes with an investment of 7.5 million pesos. Likewise, new electrical networks were installed in La Jagüita, directly benefiting 74 homes and representing an investment of 5.7 million pesos.

These initiatives were carried out by the Rural Electrification Directorate and Suburban (DERS), within the National Electrification Plan promoted by the Government, with the objective of bringing energy each year to 4,000 homes in remote communities of the country.
