The driver unions of the Peñaflor Santiago Minibus Owners Guild Association announced that they will work 7.5 hours this Monday, as part of a strike that will affect seven communes in the Metropolitan Region. The move is due to “a number of unresolved issues,” the association said in a statement.
The strike will affect routes in the communes of Peñaflor, Padre Hurtado, Talagante, Mallarauco, Calera de Tango, Puente Alto and San Bernardo.
In a statement, the trade association indicated that the strike is due to “a series of unsolved problems that affect drivers of rural services in the South West area of the Metropolitan Region.”
Schedules
From Bupesa AG they asked users to take “the necessary safeguards” before the strike. “When they (the drivers) complete their 7.5 hours of work, we will necessarily have to store the machines, since due to the shortage of existing drivers at the national level, we will not have anyone to operate them,” they indicated.
In turn, they estimated that the service from Santiago to Peñaflor, Santiago to Calera de Tango, Santiago – Santa Rosa, will be somewhat normal until 1:00 p.m. After that time, “there will be a significant decrease in services,” they pointed out.
