Ruling commemorates the 215th anniversary of the "first cry" of Independence of Venezuela

The ruling commemorated this Saturday, with acts in historical spaces of Caracas and messages on social networks, the 215 years of the “first cry” of the independence process of Venezuela against the Spanish crown.

Nicolás Maduro, who swore for a third term after his questioned re -election in 2024, said that on April 19, 1810 was the “beginning of a heroic history of struggle for freedom, independence, equality and against colonialism in all its forms.”

In a statement, the Minister of Defense, Vladimir Padrino, warned that the legacy of that April 19 faces today “the threats of a hybrid and multiform war”, which considers “vestiges of recycled imperialism that replicates the predatory logic of anachronistic hegemonies and intends to fracture” the “unity, dignity and will of struggle” of fighting “of Venezuela.
