It happened during a routine cleaning day.

A deeply unfortunate fact shocked workers from the San Rafael hospital in Facatativá, Cundinamarca, this Holy Thursday, after a collaborator of the cleaning area found the lifeless body of a newborn baby inside a bag.
The finding occurred around noon, when the worker performed routine work in one of the areas of the medical center. By noticing the presence of the body, he immediately went to a general practitioner of the Emergency Department, although sadly the baby no longer presented vital signs.
Through an official statement, the hospital confirmed what happened and assured that all the protocols established for these types of situations were activated. “All the hospital protocols consisting of a route that includes the Sijin, the Police and Legal Medicine are established, in order to determine the causes of the baby’s death,” the institution said.
The authorities carried out the lifting of the body of the newborn and transferred to legal medicine, where the corresponding necropsy will be carried out to clarify the circumstances of the death.
From the hospital they deeply regretted the event and expressed their willingness to fully collaborate with the authorities. “We will provide all the necessary information to clarify this painful fact,” they said.
For now, the authorities keep the details of the case under reserve, while the investigation is advanced to establish responsibilities and clarify how the baby’s body came to that hospital area.
