She is cheerful, talkative, with sky-high self-esteem, empowered and proud of her roots and her trades. He inherited his love for pots and cooking from his mother.. He received training, has his own business, also works in a food store and takes orders for all kinds of delicacies, sweet and savory.

She is the daughter of Lucía Saucedo, she is married to Rubén Flores and has two daughters, Lucía and Flavia. He lives on the way to the Mennonite colonies, towards the south of the department. In gap 2, Oliveira community, in the municipality of La Guardia, it was installed six years ago, when there was still no road. Over time, he decided to set up a little stand on the edge of the asphalt to sell breakfast to passers-by on the road and in the neighborhood.

Rosío is 35 years old, from Santa Cruz, she studied decoration with balloons and cotillion when she was 13 years old, in Kolping; She graduated from Cema Metodista with a bachelor’s degree and pursued a career as an Executive Secretary at the San Pablo Institute. Ultimately, she settled on cooking and all things culinary events. For this reason, his small business is called Las Flores Gourmet, in allusion to the last name of his daughters.

How did you discover Para Ellas’ distance training courses?

Leafing through the magazine back in 2011, I discovered the free distance courses, that time, the ally was Infocal. Out of curiosity I came to this school and did other specializations. I have always been interested in gastronomy in all its branches, bakery, pastry, national and international cuisine, main dishes and snacks.

Although I have also done manicure and pedicure courses, artistic makeup, self-makeup, event decoration. With Para ellas we got to know Infocal, the Cumbre Institute and now the UDI university. So far I think there are more than 15 courses that I have managed to complete.

From your home, is it difficult to move to take face-to-face classes?

The most difficult thing has been going to the UDI, I live in the south, and the university is in the north. I left three hours in advance to arrive on time. He took the Brechas Mennonitas-Río Grande bus, reached the seventh ring and the path, from there he took line 71 to the north, traveling two and a half hours one way and the same return time. I was home around 8:00 p.m. every Wednesday, then classes were on Thursdays. Then the pandemic came and we got to know the virtual classes.

How is this new way of learning? And is the internet signal in your area good?

It was a change that cost many of us. Handle the cell phone, download the application. My daughters helped me. But the Internet signal is lousy in these places. So every time I have virtual classes I go to the house of my friend Sonia Balcázar, who lives for Plan Tres Mil. I met her in this hustle and bustle and we became friends, so we collaborated.

I remember that for the 32nd anniversary of Para Ellas we made a cake to share with all the guests at the event. Always grateful to the magazine and EL DEBER, for the opportunity it offers us in each course.

Let’s talk about Las Flores Gourmet, your venture

It is my little breakfast business, which I have and run with my daughters and the support of my husband. We are at the stall from five in the morning until nine, every day. This week I am helping a friend in her poultry shop, a business that is located near my house. But I don’t neglect my bowling alley.

At night we prepare everything to go out from ‘madrugadinga’ to the kiosk, I leave my eldest daughter taking care of it, only for these days, and I go to the chicken shop. On weekends I also have orders for delivery buffets. Special dates are very busy, such as Father’s Day, Mother’s Day and Christmas. I work on what I like. If you have orders, call me at 67790587, and I’ll show you my menu.

Do your daughters follow in your footsteps?

They help me and have always helped me, since they were little they know how to do everything, sometimes they accompanied me to the face-to-face classes of the courses, when I had an exhibition of my work. The eldest has graduated from high school and will dedicate herself to something else, she is studying nursing at Ceince and is also taking paramedic courses. While the little one, she is 13 years old and is in the second year of high school. They are my treasure, I pass on everything I learn to them as my mother did with me all my life.
