After creating its own pageant —in an attempt to replace the work carried out by the Miss Nicaragua franchise in the country— the Ortega Murillo regime continues to increase the waste of public funds allocated for the “Queens of Nicaragua” contest. On this occasion, the Ortega regime announced an “update” of the program they have for this pageant, highlighting that there are a “large number of prizes.”
«The winners of Reinas Nicaragua and the princesses will receive a number of prizes, including a vehicle of the year“and certificates for a whole year of clothing, footwear, beauty treatments, treatments for all types of skin care,” revealed Rosario Murillo, vice-dictator of Nicaragua, in her usual midday speech.

She also highlighted that these “sisters, girls, queens, princesses” also have the reward of “representing us internationally as ambassadors of love for Nicaragua.”
Cash rewards
Last April, when the start of the “Nicaragua Queens” pageant was made official, the regime announced that the winners of the contest would receive, in the case of queens, 72,000 cordobas, and princesses, 36,000 cordobas, in addition to “packages with beauty products and technological items.”
The dictatorship is keeping secret where the money will be obtained and which institution will pay the prizes for the contest. The Ministry of Youth and the Nicaraguan Institute of Tourism, which have been involved in the realization of the beauty pageant, did not publish any procedure related to the “Nicaragua Queens” contest in their Annual Contracting Program, nor in the purchases they have reported in the Electronic Administrative Contracting System (Siscae).

However, Murillo stressed in her speech on Thursday that it is the Ministry of Youth that is responsible for updating the program they have for this contest.
The candidates who will participate in the national gala “Reina Nicaragua”, who were elected in each of the country’s departments, will be presented in Granada, on July 27, at the Old Railway Station of the Gran Sultana.
