Rosario Murillo calls the United States “slanderers, slanderers and liars”

The vice president of Nicaragua, Rosario Murillo, once again, directed her midday speech to utter insults against the United States whom she described as “defamers, slanderers and liars.” In addition, she announced that her regime will be present at the forum for the 20th anniversary of the US invasion of Iraq “where once again we will talk about the crimes of empires.”

«How can we forget those images and the broadcast that the star presenter at that time on CNN, Bernard Shaw, was doing when he was broadcasting the start of the war against the people of Iraq, based on lies and fabrications because if anything characterizes empires they are the defamations, the slander, the disqualifications, the lies with which they establish their crimes,” said Murillo.

«Tomorrow, March 21, we will be commemorating the 20th anniversary of the terrible invasion of the United States against the people of Iraq. The lies and crimes of empires. Tomorrow we will be holding a forum with national and international experts from the Chancellery of the Republic to discuss this terrible episode in the history of humanity that marked, that marked us all. We are going to be aware of this forum tomorrow where once again we will talk about the lies and crimes of the empires, “said the government spokesperson.

On repeated occasions, the United States has denounced the human rights violations and abuses committed by the dictatorships of Daniel Ortega and Rosario Murillo, including extrajudicial executions, arbitrary detentions, torture, and cruel, inhuman, or degrading treatment, in addition to the arbitrary deprivation of nationality to opposition citizens, activists, defenders and journalists.

“The United States joins the many voices in the international community demanding an end to these horrific human rights abuses,” State Department Assistant Secretary for Western Hemisphere Affairs Brian Nichols said recently.

The US representative also highlighted that in Nicaragua he has used the entire government structure “to silence, exile or kill his opponents.”
