MADRID, Spain.- The Cuban activist Rosa María Payá denounced this Sunday the violence of the Government and its repressors against the population that during these days has taken to the streets to demand the restoration of the electrical current.
Sharing a video of one of the many protests that took place in Cuba this weekend, the president of the Cuba Decide citizen initiative pointed out: “All those who see civilian clothes, including the one with the camera in his hand, are agents of State Security or the rapid response brigades, sent (as cowards) to end the protest, to hunt down the protesters and disappear them.”
The opposition also pointed out that “they are trained to repress”, and that “the majority belong to the Armed Forces (FAR) or the Ministry of the Interior (MININT)”.
“That is, they are soldiers in disguise. In exchange, the regime gives them a couple of privileges over the widespread misery that exists in Cuba,” Payá pointed out.
This Sunday the working group Justice 11J reported that he had recorded 20 arrests in the protests that have taken place since last Friday in various provinces of the country.
Justice 11J expressed concern about the extensive deployment of repressive forces by the MININT and the FAR in recent days.
According to the information, the repression has been greater in Havana, where thousands of people have taken to the streets in protests against the blackouts and shouting anti-government slogans.
One of the most violently suppressed peaceful demonstrations was the one that took place around 10:00 pm this Saturday on Linea street in Vedado.
The journalist José Raúl Gallego published on his Twitter account a short video in which “you can see the repression of shock troops dressed in civilian clothes in the Vedado area.” In another recording showed the arrival of trucks with agents of the regime (in civilian clothes) to Linea Street to break up the protest.
